“The mission of the Elliott Museum is to interpret and celebrate the genius of innovation, creativity and the historical events in Martin County and the surrounding region all within an environment of learning and discovery.”
Sterling Elliott, the museum’s namesake, is at the core of our mission. As a problem solver, Elliott invented ingenious ways to improve day to day life and as a result, changed history. His creativity brought humor to advertising and the marketing of products to women.
Local and regional history is preserved for generations to come through artifacts, journals, photographs and newspaper clippings among other items. The New Elliott Museum will allow us to display artifacts from our extensive Seminole Indian collection and, for the first time ever, from our Ais Indian collection.
Our vintage car collection combines the design ingenuity of people like Sterling Elliott and the history of an industry and its impact on society. The New Elliott Museum will include the most extensive Model A vehicle collection in the world.
Baseball, a purely American creation, is celebrated through our remarkable collection. The greats and the highlights of the game are chronicled through baseball cards, contracts, journals and equipment. Scoundrels and scandals are also recorded lest we repeat them.
We are a region and a country of innovators with a long history of creativity. Come to the Elliott and celebrate that spirit!
